A CSA (community supported agriculture) is a system gaining popularity with small farms, cheese makers, bakers, butchers, and wineries. Community members purchase a “share” at the beginning of the growing season, which provides capital for the farm when they need it most. In return, members get a “share” of the harvest. Six Mile Creek is a family-run farm winery, which grows 60-80% of the grapes used in wine production. Supplemental grapes are locally sourced from growers on Cayuga and Seneca lakes.
